In her capacity as a clinician Dr. Cohen is warm, supportive and direct in her approach. She provides a safe, professional environment for clients to explore the issues that are causing their difficulty in achieving happiness, goals and/or objectives. Dr. Cohen believes that her clients have the strengths and resources to resolve their problems and are just "stuck" when they decide to enter treatment. She works with children Birth - 12 years with and without special needs, adults, and couples. Dr. Cohen's experience as a former teacher and school psychologist enables her to liaison in a productive team approach with schools, teachers and parents.

As a Superior Court recognized Child Custody Evaluator, Dr. Cohen does the evaluation that assists the courts in making recommendations that are in the psychological best interest of the child. Her background in education and her postdoctoral training in Developmental Psychology, make her uniquely qualified to address the issues and needs of children whose parents are separating or divorcing.

Dr. Cohen is also on the Superior Court's list of recognized therapists. She is often appointed by the Court to assist either parent(s) or children who are in the midst of the divorce or whose relationships have terminated.

Dr. Cohen is widely quoted in books and magazine articles. She has written numerous articles and chapters in books that addresses working with visually impaired infants and their families; family relationships; working with couples; and sibling rivalry. Dr. Cohen has presented at several conferences and has appeared on several T.V. shows.
